It was a bolt from the blue on the early hours of 5th January 2023 when I heard that our beloved brother Sri Vajjha Prasada Rao garu has merged in AMMA.
I had an association spread over four decades with Sri Prasada Rao garu.
Once I was asked by brother Sri Kondamudi Ramakrishna to carry some papers from Jillellamudi pertaining to our Matrusri Oriental College and hand over to Prasada Rao garu and request him to do the needful. At that time he was in a senior position in the Education Department of Govt. of A.P. at Hyderabad. I visited his office very next day. Though I was young and very junior in my professional career he had received me with all due respect and had given a patient hearing of the subject. He has promised to take care of the matter immediately. It was only beginning of my visits to his office for many of such works and every time I had the similar experience.
He was very affectionate and always AMMA and Jillellamudi were on his mind which translated in to action. His dynamism in organizing events and heading the Jillellamudi Amma Seva Samithi (JASS) at Hyderabad were exemplary. He inspired many of our brothers to participate in various service activities. He has been a role model for sacrifice and dedication in the service to AMMA.
A couple years back when reshuffling of JASS was taking place he has requested me to be the treasurer of this organization. I had hesitated in view of my limited exposure in this field. However he had encouraged me and finally told in an emotional tone: “I need your support and I rely on you”. I simply obeyed his request and contributed to the best of my ability under his guidance whenever needed.
A beaming personality with a smile and affectionate looks cannot be forgotten by me in rest of my life.
I am sure with his enormous service rendered to AMMA; SHE will give him a permanent place in HER lap.
