Good news to the devotees of Amma !! A grand event that is memorable both for its magnificence and significance to the history of the institution at Jillellamudi has taken place on March 13 in the precincts of the institution. Yes, that is the Engagement function for the ensuing wedding of Chi.Sow Anasuya (Pinki), the only daughter of our beloved brother Brahmandam Ravindra Rao and granddaughter of Matru Sri Anasuya Devi and Sri Brahmandam Nageswara Rao. The bridegroom is Chi Viswesh, son of Sri Kompella T.S. Venkata Raman of Chennai. The wedding is slated to be performed on May 21, 2003 in Hyderabad.

The function being the first one in the family of Amma (I mean, Anasuya Devi and Brahmandam Nageswara Rao garu) everyone participated with enthusiasm and festive fervor considering that the function is their own. Some of the brothers even contributed to the glory of the function in their own way, some bringing hundreds of lengths of flower garlands and buntings for decorating the interior of Himalayam. The whole of Hymalayam was elaborately decorated for holding the function. The Management of the institution spared no efforts to make the function really a memorable one in every respect.

Ravi, on his part made every effort to see that as many of the devotees of Amma as possible attend this function, by personally contacting them on phone to invite them, as he considered all of them part of the bigger family of Amma. Apart from offering clothes to the parents of the bridegroom as is the normal practice in this function, he offered clothes to all those who accompanied them from Chennai. The management of the institution also has rightly presented clothes to all the members of the bridegroom’s party..

The lunch offered to the bridegroom’s party and all the invitees including the inmates, staff and students of the Oriental College as also some of the elders in the village occupies the prime of place in the proceedings of the day. At the end of the day, each and everyone who attended the function were left with the impression that they had witnessed a kind of mini marriage in place of an Engagement function to their immense satisfaction and happiness.
