ONE day Mother said to the village doctor of J Hellamudi “The villagers have a doubt, who will stay here when Mother is no more? Someone who accompanied the Minister to this place said that this will become the greatest centre of pilgrimage in the whole of Andhra Pradesh. “There is no water here: how tenacious is she, drinking even this water in which the frogs are dead!’, they think… If houses rise up here upto that canal…? and when people feich drinking water from there… When that canal becomes the river of Life… Mother said as though musing.
The Doctor interrupted, referring indirectly to Mother, “It is the River of Life anyway! They think like that only because it is in human form.”
