Jaya ho Mata…….

It happened on September, 8th 2017 in Dallas, Texas. We live in Denver, Colorado which is about a 2 hours flight from Dallas. Most children of AMMA are familiar with Sri Sri Sri Viswaguru ViswamJi Maharaj. Sri Guru ji was blessed by AMMA on more than one occasion. He never misses an opportunity to mention that fact. Sri Guru Ji is also a frequent guest to Jillellamudi. Sri Guru Ji has been visiting the USA regularly for the past 15 years or a little more. Whenever Guru Ji visits the USA, he always has a tight schedule and his travels are limited to a few selected cities. Sometimes, the city of Denver is not on that list for various reasons.

In 2017, Guru Ji is not scheduled to visit Denver. As a result, that year, my wife Daya and I decided to travel to Dallas to take the blessings of Guru Ji. We chose Dallas because my nephew C.V. Rajesh and family live in the town of Flower Mound near Dallas. Rajesh’s wife Hyma is none other than the granddaughter of late Adharapurapu Seshagiri Rao annayya and the daughter of Mrs. and Mr. Ummethala Gopal Rao garu. Guru Ji has been coming to their house for nearly 15 years since their stay near Boston in the early 2000s. We landed in Dallas on 7th September. Unfortunately, at that time Rajesh wasn’t in Dallas. He left for India a week earlier as his father, late Sri C.V. Subba Rao garu, our third brother-in-law, was in a critical condition. He took the blessings of Guru Ji before leaving for India.

On September 8th, as a normal practice, we attended Guru Ji pooja at one of the Telugu family’s homes in Dallas. During the pooja, as he does sometimes, Guru Ji was simply tossing flowers (lotus and rose) for devotees to catch. Fortunately, my wife Daya and I caught one flower each. Since it is a blessing and prasad from Guru Ji, we saved those two flowers carefully in the car. Then, as the norm in Guru Ji’s itinerary, we all went to another devotee’s house for another pooja. As happened earlier, in this house also Guru Ji tossed a few flowers towards his devotees. There were about 50-60 people in the crowd. Again, my wife and I were lucky enough to receive 2 flowers from Guru Ji, one each. They were white lotus flowers. The flowers were not tossed randomly for people to catch. Instead, Guru Ji was tossing flowers specifically towards targeted individuals of his choice. We both were lucky to be those chosen ones this time. Again, we saved those two white lotus flowers carefully in a wet paper towel taken from the host family and took them home.

By the time we reached home, Chi. Hyma has received the bad news that our brother-in-law, late C.V. Subba Rao garu, has left us. Immediately we called Guru Ji to inform the news and take his blessings and advice. Benevolent Guru Ji told all of us to take showers and sprinkle blessed holy turmeric water around the house. Then, he advised us to take his darshan in the morning. We followed Guru Ji’s advise to the letter. He blessed Chi. Hyma, kids, Daya and me. He assured us that he will be with us always.

Next day, Daya and I caught a flight back to Denver. On our way home, we carefully wrapped the saved white lotus flowers given by Guru Ji in a wet paper towel and a newspaper and brought them back carefully to our home. Upon arriving home, we unwrapped the white lotus flowers and kept them in a ZipLock bag and placed them in the back of the refrigerator to keep them fresh for a few days. After that we did not pay much attention to those saved flowers.

Remember, it happened in September. We went on with our normal routine life. The flowers remained in the back of the refrigerator as fresh as we received from Guru Ji in September. Unexpectedly, in early October, Daya was diagnosed with a small growth on the pituitary gland causing intense pain on the left side of the face. Medical professional, an ENT surgeon, recommended quick operation for removal of the growth in the pituitary gland. It was scheduled for November second week. The surgery required participation by two surgeons, one ENT surgeon and one neurosurgeon. As the date got closer, we got nervous and called Guru Ji seeking his blessings for the success of the surgery. He kindly blessed us, assuring us “I am with you.” I also called Jillellamudi requesting archana to AMMA and Hyma Akkayya praying for successful surgery and recovery.

The surgery was a success, and Daya has stayed under intensive care for three days followed by hospital care for two more days. She came home after five days. She was under medical care for three more weeks with frequent visits to the doctor’s office for post surgery care. All went well by AMMA’s and Guru Ji’s blessings.

Then something interesting happened. The two white lotus flowers blessed by Guru Ji that stayed fresh from September 8th till mid-November, suddenly turned brown and started to rot. In two days, they become completely brown and unsafe to save any longer. We wanted to share this unexpected turn in the condition of lotus flowers with Guru Ji. We called Guru Ji and shared with him what happened with the flowers and the whole story. Flowers that stayed fresh over 70 days since September 8th, quickly turned brown after the surgery as if they were there for a purpose and the mission was accomplished. They did their duty. At that point what Guru Ji said is more interesting. Guru Ji said,

“Yes, I gave you those flowers in AMMA’s name”. (AMMA peru cheppi neeku ichanu).

Do we need to say any more? This is how AMMA and Guru Ji were with us during those critical days. The amazing part is that we did not even know that Daya must get that surgery so quickly and we did not even know that information when we took the darshan of Guru Ji on September 8th, naturally, we could not tell him either. Despite our limitations, holy saint Guru Ji was able to see the upcoming event and blessed us in AMMA’s name in advance. Yes, Guru Ji knows that I came to him as an AMMA devotee. When he came to our home in Columbus, Ohio, he spent nearly 20mts alone in the prayer room in front of AMMA’s photo. Those two lotus flowers, we believe, acted as Sri Rama Raksha for our family in critical need.

Yes, sages see things before we humans could do. That is the derivative and divya tatva.
