As during previous years, Amma’s ‘Anantotsavam’ was held this year also at the residence of Sri. K.Narasimha Murty, in Domalguda, Hyderabad on 18th June, 2009, the day of Amma’s ‘Mahabhinishkramanam’ (shedding of the mortal frame). The function consisted of collective parayana of Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam and puja to Amma first by the family members of Mr. K.N.Murty followed by all the brothers and sisters who gathered there for the occasion.

Taking this opportunity, and in view of the large gathering expected for this function, it was decided to organise the release of two books on this occasion. One is a pictorial booklet ‘Viswajanani’ translated into Hindi from the original in English written by Sri S.Mohanakrishna of Hyderabad, having already brought out such booklets in four other languages – English, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada due to the efforts of brother Shri Mohanakrishna. The translation into Hindi was done by Dr. P.Premakumar Bhargava of Guntur.

The second one is ‘Voice of Mother’ by Sri Ekkirala Bharadwaja, a reprint of the book originally published in 1967 and the copies of which are no longer available. The book was printed in Hyderabad on behalf of Sri Viswajanani Parishat who provided the funds needed for printing and who hold the CopyRights of the book. This book was released by Sri L.V.Subrahmanyam, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Health, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. After the release of the book, he spoke of how he was drawn to Amma, being the son of Prof.L.S.R.Krishna Sastry, formerly of Department of English, Andhra University and who was an ardent devotee of Amma. He narrated his experiences with Amma, before he entered Civil Services and subsequent to that.

Before the release of the Pictorial booklet, Mr.Mohanakrishna described the background as to what spurred him to undertake the printing of these booklets and how various persons well acquainted with the respective languages helped him in his endeavours and thanked all of them.

The pictorial booklet in Hindi was released by Mr. K.N.Murty, a noted chartered Accountant of Hyderabad and Member of Board of Directors of a couple of Major Banks. After the release of the book he described how Amma’s unbounded Grace has been showered on him and helped him rise in his profession. His talk was followed by a brief talk by Sri. K.Lakshminarayana of Hyderabad, who happened to be a former colleague of Mr.Mohan Krishna and who is well-versed in Hindi language. He complimented both the Translator who so beautifully and faithfully translated the lucid expression of Amma into Hindi and Mr.Mohanakrishna who is instrumental in bringing out this elegant and beautiful booklet and said that it would serve immensely in spreading awareness about Amma among many of the North Indian children of Amma.

Next, brother Dr. Prema Kumar Bhargava who rendered the booklet into Hindi gave an excellent exposition in Telugu narrating his own experiences with Amma right from his childhood and how he was blessed through this sacred job of translating into Hindi. He extolled the unbounded love and grace of Amma, describing her as the physical form of the primordial Shakti (Energy) and her descent in the form of Mother of all.

Mr.N.Lakshmana Rao, Organising Secretary of Sri Viswajanani Parishat who came specially from Jillellamudi to attend this function spoke of the efforts of the brothers in Hyderabad in bringing out the two beautiful books and later honoured all those on the dais with Shawls brought as Amma’s Prasadam from Jillellamudi.

Mr.P.S.R.Anjaneya Prasad, a noted Poet and writer in Telugu from Guntur, conducted the entire proceedings with his usual virtuosity at the art.

The whole function concluded with the traditional puja rituals and a sumptuous lunch to the large gathering of devotee children of Amma, striking a happy note in the hearts of everyone.
