Devotees Meet (VISWA SOWBRHATRUTVA SAMMELANAM) was held on 13th and 14th September 2014 at Jillellamudi following the invitation extended by Sri B Ravindra Rao, Patron and Sri M. Dinakar, President on behalf of Sri Viswajanani Parishat.

Incidentally, September 12th happened to be Ravi Annayya’s 68th birthday. Several invitees to the meeting gathered on 12th itself to celebrate the occasion.

The event came alive with participation of a wide cross section of long standing devotees and alumni of Matrusri Oriental College, who came from far off places to contribute their services and organize the meet.

Brother Sri Kummamuru Krishna and Varanasi Dharmasuri, ably conducted the proceedings on both the days. Krishna organized Group Discussions on select topics of relevance to S V JP and arrived at Action Plans based on Goals and Priorities. Each Group presented the issues involved on the selected topics along with the solutions suggested by Group members. He was ably supported by Dr Girish Kumar from Mumbai, and several others.

Universal Brotherhood as it is perceived today has its origin in Jillellamudi with the presence of AMMA, ‘Viswajanani’. In 1950s and ’60s the bondage of affection among the devotee children of Amma was just pure, natural and unadulterated. It is no exaggeration to say that even today the bondage between the members of Jillellamudi circle is stronger than in their own family circle. The two-day meet was intended to revive the spirit among the brethren.

Sri VS R Murthy, widely recognized as Spiritual Scientist, who had Amma’s blessings at his tender age and later spent four decades enjoying the Spiritual Bliss in the presence of Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba, was at Jillellamudi from 12th to 14th September 2014, closely observing the proceedings. At the end, he presented his analysis and advice on several issues raised by various devotees.

A few people were honored on this occasion. Sri Mannava Dattatreya Sarma, popularly known as Dattu Annayya, who spent the best part of his prime life in the service of Amma, Sri Nadendla Lakshmanarao garu, an octogenarian and his wife Smt. Bhramaramba, who settled down in Jillellamudi for the last two decades and who made an outstanding contribution in the administration of SVJP, Smt. Bolla Varalakshmi, another octogenarian, who strived day and night unmindful of her frail health, developing a beautiful vegetable garden in Jillellamudi, Sri Kondamudi Ravi and his wife Smt. Annapoorna for their outstanding contribution in Namasankeerthanam. This was more of a gesture to pray to Amma to shower Her blessings on them than formal Felicitation.
