“జ్ఞానినామపిచేతాంసి దేవి భగవతీ హి సా
బలాదాకృష్య మోహాయ మహామాయా ప్రయచ్ఛతి”
(Devi Mahatmyam)
Sometimes even those who profess absolute faith in Amma and treat her as an Avatar ignore Her advice!
This is one of the greatest ironies of Maya, if you prefer that word.
The marriage of Sri K. Hari of Vijayawada was fixed for 29th May 1991. On the 14th of that month, Amma appeared in his dream and asked him to visit Jillellamudi on the 16th. Hari was happy to have received such summons directly from Amma and informed his parents about his dream and his proposed visit to Jillellamudi. They too were happy and agreed to the program.
But as Hari was getting ready to start, his mother suggested that they all proceed to Jillellamudi on 26th, when he can be made a bride-groom in the presence of Amma. It looked logical and hence it was settled that the entire family would leave for Jillellamudi on 26th of May.
But as fate would have it, they were not destined to go to Jillellamudi at all before the marriage! Even the performance of marriage had become doubtful!
The brutal assassination of Rajiv Gandhi on 21st May had thrown the entire country into complete chaos. Communications broke down. Traveling became a risk. Curfew was clamped down in many towns and cities including Vijayawada. Visiting Jillellamudi in those circumstances was unthinkable.
Luckily, in spite of many apprehensions, the marriage went off without a hitch. Hari and his parents think that it became possible due to the immense Grace of Amma in their family.
