It was one of those unforgettable revelations in which the Divine Mother was kind to make a statement, the profundity of which enthralls me even now, several decades after Amma was kind enough to talk to me. A statement which I recall whenever I see that beautiful marble statue of Hyma, whenever I think of that most sacred temple called Himalayam. It is my bounden duty to share with my brethren what the Divine Mother said.

It was a beautiful moonlit night rendered most pleasant by the Divine Presence of Amma. Probably 1981 was the year. Each moment was pleasant, precious and enjoyable. Mother was holding my hand and we were walking on the Southern Balcony, almost near the extreme wall. Mother was looking at Hyamalayam and we were chit chatting about something or the other.

The previous day there was a big function in Jillellamudi. Kasu Radhakrishna Reddy, the born-blind and singer brother was chanting Hyma Namam. He was deeply immersed in the ocean of devotion and love for the Namam he was rendering. Throughout a major part of the night, he sat in the temple and chanted the Namam. Mother was obviously listening to the chanting. “How nicely Radha was chanting the namam! His voice pierced the doors and the walls. Even the slight trace of arrogance in his voice sounds so pleasant”. Mother commented, as we were walking.

Suddenly She said “I was very much afraid halfway through his Namam. He was saying ‘Ohm Hyma’ and after sometime he was saying ‘Oh Hyma! It was as if he was calling Her. I was scared, if Hyma comes out of the temple in response to his call, what should I do?” So casually said, but so profound was the inherent message in the statement, I thought the five elements of Nature, the nine planets and the myriad Gods and Goddesses must have been listening with rapt attention. The profundity of the revelation left me so thrilled and speechless, I could not utter a syllable.

What exactly was Amma saying? Was She not telling, in Her own beautiful, compassionate style “My dear Child, that which is present in Hymalayam is that Divine force called Hyma who is alive, responsive and can be accessed by a pious and yearning heart. Call Her out with Devotion, call Her with sincerity, say ‘Oh, Hyma’ and there she is anxious. to respond to your call. If you have the right yearning in you, She will come out and respond to your call.” Was that not the implication of what Amma said?

There are so many devotees of Amma who were present when Hyma was installed in the temple. I was not one amongst them. I read from books that Amma bestowed Divinity to Hyma. After Nannagaru was installed in the Sanctum Sanctorum of Anasuya Swaralayam, I was present in Amma’s room when She was telling the Priest that worship in Himalayam will be with Lalitha Sahasram, in Anasuya Swaralayam with Ambika Sahasram. I knew from my experiences that every worship in Hymalayam is personally answered by Amma. I sat in the Sanctum Sanctorum of Hymalayam and recited Lalitha Sahasram thrice. As soon as I went to Her room, Mother asked me, “did you recite Lalitha three times’ ‘. So many were the occasions when I found a Kshipra Prasadini in Hyma. Just ask for something silently and the desire will be fulfilled. All that is one aspect, the revelation Amma personally made, “I was afraid, what should I do if Hyma comes out now!” That is something else again. The cosmic force, that Primordial energy who controls this Cosmos, confirmed directly and emphatically, “Call Her out, with devotion, with yearning, there She is anxious to respond.

Mother, won’t you be kind enough to permit us to serve Her, now and forever!
